Hotel management is a Bachelor Programme varies from duration of three to four years.
It is a program designed to cater to the needs of the hotel industry which has grown
by leaps and bounds in the past decade. There is a huge demand of skilled man-power
for several departments like Hotel & Restaurant, Cruise Ship, Food and Beverage
(F & B), Hospitality Administration & Catering, Airline Catering & Cabin Service
& many more. Personal factor that is needed is Positive attitude, outgoing and pleasing
personality, capacity to work hard and a liking for interaction with people. Must-disciplined,
committed and dedicated behavioural approach.

Exam Pattern and syllabus
NCHMCT JEE
- Most Important Test for HM is National Council for Hotel Management & Catering Technology
- Joint Entrance Exam (NCHMCT JEE).
- The Council centrally regulates academics for B.Sc. Hospitality & Hotel Administration
and nine other structured courses of study that are imparted at the
- 21 Central Institutes of Hotel Management
- 25 State Government Institutes of Hotel Management
- 1 Public Sector Undertaking
- 25 Private Institutes of Hotel Management affiliated with NCHMCT
- 14 Food Craft Institutes located in different parts of the country offer Diploma
programs in specific operational areas.
NCHM JEE ELIGIBILITY
(A) Qualifying Examination
- Candidate must have passed 10+2 system of Senior Secondary examination or its equivalent
with English as one of the subjects.
- Those appearing in 10+2 or equivalent examination can also appear on provisional
basis. Provisional admission will stand cancelled if proof of having passed the
qualifying examination (10+2 or its equivalent) is not submitted at the time of
admission.
(B) Age Limit
- For candidates from General and OBC categories, upper age limit is 22 years as on
01-July.
- In the case of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates, upper age limit is
25 years as on 01-July.
(C) Physical Fitness
All qualified candidates will have to submit a physical fitness certificate at the
time of admission from a Registered Medical Practitioner in the prescribed format.
PATTERN OF EXAMINATION
- 200 Questions
- 3 Hour
- Four mark for each correct answer
- There is negative marking of 1 for each wrong answer.
- Online Mode
- Medium of Exam—English & Hindi.
- 5 Sections (Numerical Ability and Analytical Aptitude, Reasoning and Logical Deduction,
General Knowledge & Current Affairs, English Language and Aptitude for Service Sector.)
